Colorado: Private clinic with handsome Stallion St. John

St. John is 5 years old and the owner had already started his training and riding, but wanted to be able to ride him bitless and in a cordeo.

In a few days of training both the owner and I was able to ride him bitless and in a cordeo.

He easily understood the training, but he was thinking a long time about choosing the human as his leader. We gave him all the time he needed to decide. 

When he finally did, he became so relaxed that he actually fell into a deep, deep sleep. It can be somewhat exhausting making new and big decisions, like he just did. As seen in this video he is 'licking and chewing' and this is what all horses will always do when they are making new choices, learning new skills. He came a very long way on this day.

St. John is living on a ranch alone without any other horses and this is never a good thing for any horse. They will always thrive much better in a herd or with at least one horse friend. They will also be much easier to work with - and much safer to handle. I hope he soon gets a friend!

The owner and family were the nicest people and I enjoyed my stay at the ranch very much. I really hope I get the chance to come back visit St. John and his sweet family again!
